美術大師 Picasso 有趣的創作軼事

 5 月12日的《Paris Review》雜誌有一篇文章介紹 Picasso 的油畫《The Blind Man’s Meal》, 我因搜尋相關資訊得知他和好友 Max Jacob 通信時會分享創作的心路歷程, 我覺得信裡常附有素描的事有點意思, 舉幾個例子如下.

(一)《Letter with Blind Man and Dog》(信的標題是後人加的) 談到一幅即將完成的作品,「I am painting a blind man at the table. He holds a piece of bread in his left hand and with his right hand reaches for a jug of wine. There is a dog nearby that looks at him. I am quite happy with it [although] it is not yet finished.」下面左圖是信的影印, 右圖是《The Blind Man’s Meal》(去了狗). 

(二) 下左的素描是一對貧窮夫妻用餐, 這個題材引出一幅版畫《The Frugal Meal》( 下中) , 和一幅油畫《Poor Couple in a Café》(下右).  

(三) 我沒找到下面兩個素描可對照的作品, 左圖看來只是畫手的心得.
