閒話 A. I.

 我在網路上看到 A. I. 說:

While it is widely circulated as a rumor or anecdote, there is no definitive evidence that Henry Fonda forgot Clint Eastwoods name while appearing on The Dick Cavett Show.

我碰巧在 youtube 看過上述訪談的錄影, 印象不同於 A. I. 所說, 就找來複習一下, 1972年4月19日的《The Dick Cavett Show》有來賓三人: Henry Fonda, Sandy Duncan 和 Alexander Cohen.

Fonda 談到參與義大利導演 Sergio Leone 的 spaghetti western 電影, 不知何故怕有些觀眾不清楚, 想舉一位大明星的電影來介紹什麼是 spaghetti western, 卻一時說不出那位明星的名字, 以下是英文的 transcript, 括號裡是我的實況轉播.

... I can’t say his name, who’s, who’s the actor that he made … (他看主持人沒有要幫忙的意思, 轉頭看他右邊的兩位來賓) 

Eastwood (這時 Duncan 說)

Clint Eastwood, yeah, yeah... (Fonda 馬上接口, 接下去提了兩個 Eastwood 拍的 spaghetti western 片名) 

Fonda 明顯的靠提示才說出 Eastwood 的大名, A. I. 卻說「... no definitive evidence ... 」 我只把這件無傷大雅的事當作茶餘飯後的閒談, 不在此討論 A. I. 的利弊.
